The minimum age for kayak, pedalo and SUP hire is 5 years old and children under 11 must be supervised by an adult.

We are a short 2 minute walk from the main bus stops in Sandown. Ideally situated on route 2, 3 & 8 from Newport and Ryde with great links from Wightlink Foot Passenger service, Portsmouth. Sandown train station is also a 15 minute walk from Bayside Beach HQ.

During the peak season (April – October) we aim to be open by 8:30am and close at approximately 17:30pm, 7 days a week. However, opening times are weather dependent, so it is always worth checking our social media or getting in touch before joining us.

Yes, buoyancy aids must be worn on all equipment for your safety, regardless of swimming ability.

No, you are not required to wear a helmet but you can be provided with one upon request.

Kayaks, pedalos and SUP boards are hired for 30 minutes. Long hire periods can be arranged upon request. Please speak to a member of our team.

You are not required to wear a wetsuit but if you would prefer to wear your own, you can. Bayside do not have wetsuits available for hire.

None, all our activities are open to beginners and easily accessible to all. All participants will be given a safety briefing before their hire period begins.

Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times, however, we would recommend that non-swimmers are supervised. Please inform staff members if you are a weak or non-swimmer. If you have any questions or are unsure about taking part, please speak to one of our team.

Bayside Beach does not provide changing or shower facilities. However, we do have a beach hut that you are welcome to use if required.

Yes, we are ideally located near public toilets.
